Oklahoma Funeral Board Hosts Meeting of District 7

The Oklahoma Funeral Board hosted a meeting of district 7 in Oklahoma City on Friday, September 23, 2011.  An evening meal together Thursday evening at a Cajun restaurant with live jazz music started the event.   The Oklahoma State Capitol meeting room provided nice accommodations to hear from speakers regarding online education, disciplinary practices for agencies, board member legalities and mortuary science student demographics.  Discussions ensuing from the presentations provided valuable information and opportunities to hear how others are handling current events in our industry. Attendees included representatives from the Conference headquarters, University of Central Oklahoma Funeral Service Department; San Antonio Mortuary College; Mortuary Science Program at Amarillo College; Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service; Dallas Institute of Funeral Service Board of Trustees; Dallas Institute of Funeral Service; staff, from the Texas Funeral Service Commission and Commission members and staff from the Oklahoma Funeral Board with Board members.
